The lacquerBengara Urushi 30ml is used as a support for the application of gold powder. It can also be used as a final finish in kintsugi, the ceramic will then be related to the Tametsugi style (meaning that the work has no gold or silver on the repaired parts).

This lacquer is more refined than the base lacquerki urushi. It contains approximately 75% more urushiol than a regular hairspray and its water content is approximately 15%. Its intense color is due to the high concentration of iron oxide.

Wordbengara refers to a red pigment composed primarily of iron oxide. Its name comes from the Japanese word for the Bengal region of India where the pigment imported to Japan.
